“I am weary, O God; I am weary and worn out, O God.”
Proverbs 30:1 (NLT)
True relationship with God requires vulnerability. Eventually, conversations must go beyond surface level. Intimacy with God means opening up and letting Him in. It means making the decision to trust Him.
Last fall I grew spinach in pots. Soil, Water, Sunlight. My plants were thriving and I was so excited that I’d actually grown something! However, as soon as I brought my plants inside (due to snow and freezing temperatures) they died. Although they had water and were near a window, they’d lost direct contact with the very thing that kept them alive – the Sun.
The Son – Jesus – died so we can have a personal relationship with God. Direct contact. He cares deeply about you and every thing concerning you. Be honest about your needs, how you feel, and what you may be struggling with. Are you being completely honest with God? Do you trust Him enough to be intimate with Him? He is your Creator and He desires intimacy and honesty with you.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:0 (NLT)
