31 Days of Proverbs: Day 25

“Remove the impurities from silver, and the sterling will be ready for the silversmith.”
Proverbs 25:4 (NLT)

I am always intrigued by stories of people who have gone to Heaven and seen Jesus. Recently, I watched a video of an elderly woman sharing her experience in Heaven. She described how beautiful it was and how much she loved Jesus. As amazing as her experience was, she was saddened because Jesus told her she could not stay in Heaven. He told her He wasn’t ready for her yet.

No matter how young or old you are, God has a purpose for you as long as you are alive. He also desires to prepare you for Himself. We as believers are Christ’s bride, and He is the groom. When He returns, we will unite with Him and He wants to ensure that we’re ready for that moment.

So just as a silversmith removes impurities from silver, God is also constantly removing impurities from us as well, transforming us into His image. The pruning process can be uncomfortable, painful, and hard to understand, but in the end we are beautiful and shining for His glory. What is God speaking to you about? What is He trying to do in your life? Instead of running from His process, I encourage you to embrace it. God loves you so dearly, and He wants you to be all that He created you to be.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
