31 Days of Proverbs: Day 14

“Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.”
Proverbs 14:4 (NLT)

Just as God promises blessings, He also promises that we will experience trials. In this life we will go through hard times, we’ll endure pain and we may walk through storms that seem absolutely unbearable. But every part of our story makes us who we are. We become stronger and our faith develops if we continue to trust God and not give up during the hard times.

Keeping up with oxen would require a lot of maintenance, but the benefit is a bountiful harvest. There is no such thing as a pain-free life or a life that does not require work. Things will happen that you cannot control or change, no matter how hard you try. However, there is purpose for every season of your life – there is purpose for every single day of your life.

What is your attitude about your current season? Do you need a shift in perspective? Pray that God will align your heart and desires with His, and that He will bless you with strength and understanding.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
