“Instruct the wise, and they will be even wiser. Teach the righteous, and they will learn even more.”
Proverbs 9:9 (NLT)
In high-school, I struggled with chemistry. Because I had such a hard time, I took advantage of the tutoring sessions my teacher offered after school. It was a sacrifice, but it was worth it. I began to understand the material and excel in class. Even when my grades significantly improved, I still attended the tutoring sessions. I wanted to continue to do well, and learn as much as I could.
One characteristic of a wise person is that they are willing to learn. A wise person is aware that they don’t know everything, and that there is always room to grow. Even experts in a particular subject/area are still learners.
The question is, are you teachable? Are you willing to learn? Take heed to the messages that are presented to you, and the things that God is teaching you. Allow His Word to resonate within in you, and put it into practice in your life. My chemistry grade didn’t improve simply because I went to tutoring. My grades improved because I was intentional; I studied my notes and put them into practice.
God promises to continue teaching and developing us. Are you intentional about implementing those lessons?
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
